NBC Television

 

NBC TV, originally launched as Kundu 2 Television, is Papua New Guinea's home grown free-to-air television network and is acknowledged as a significant part of PNG's largest broadcasting organisation. Originally launched in September 2008 as a platform for the National Government to provide an information service for the people of PNG, NBC TV has established a reputation across the nation to deliver trusted news and current affairs and to support local communities and deliver home grown programming nationwide.

From Kavieng in the North to Alotau in the South and Buka in the East to Vanimo in the West. NBC reaches more people in Papua New Guinea everyday than any other media organisation.

 

NBC TV is the real home of local news, with our flagship NBC National News broadcast at 6pm every evening and simulcast across NBC National Radio. We are also the home of unique infotainment shows, including Extra, PNG Tonight, The Tech Show, Replay and The Midday View.

Sport is another vital part of NBC, with a range of strong existing programming and new content to be introduced, as a response to viewer needs.

NBC is currently broadcast in widescreen standard definition and is high definition and digital ready for future PNG broadcast licence updates.

NBC'S goal is to dominate the top 10 regular programmes watched by Papua New Guineans, including new Reality, Public Affairs and Infotainment programmes. NBC plans to lead breakfast television with our own locally produced morning television programming. The objective is for NBC to be unmatched in real PNG content that people love to watch, listen and enjoy.
